Join us for the Very Short Film Festival’s Premiere Weekend — a three-day celebration of bold storytelling, emerging filmmakers, and powerful short films from across Australia and beyond.
Across the weekend, experience screenings, filmmaker Q&As, awards, and special events, all set in the heart of Hobart.
The National Premiere & Awards Night on Saturday includes the VSFF Ambassador Award presented by actor and producer Marta Dusseldorp.

Kick off the festival with a curated showcase of standout films from the 2026 program.
Tasmanian Spotlight
A special showcase celebrating Tasmanian filmmakers who have been part of VSFF over the years, highlighting local voices and the creative community that continues to grow here.

Celebrating the next generation of filmmakers with screenings, awards and a live Q&A.
Speed Date Filmmaker Meet-up

A relaxed networking session connecting filmmakers and creatives.
National Premiere (Awards Night)
6:30–9:30pm
The main event. Watch the top finalist films, hear from the filmmakers in a live Q&A, and be there as the 2026 winners are announced — including the VSFF Ambassador Award, presented by Marta Dusseldorp.
After Awards Drinks
From 9:30pm: Join us after the National Premiere for a drink with filmmakers and the VSFF community at the Crescent Hotel.

A closing screening featuring award-winning shorts, audience favourites and standout films from across the weekend.
Screenings exempt from classification and may contain mature themes.
