Hello Very Short Film Festival Friends,

Screenhub writer Jini Maxwell recently interviewed our director Anna Cerneaz to get some insight into the festival. The full interview can be found below, and you can read the original article, “The Rise of the Tiny Film”, on Screenhub.

‘We expect that the experience might be uncomfortable at times, but it will probably also be life-affirming, funny, entertaining, transporting and surprising.’

Using the 2021 signature, Tasmania, in your film

This year we ask entrants to incorporate a ‘signature item’ or action to ensure that the film is unique and made for the festival. The 2021 signature is Tasmania, how you choose to sneak that into your film is entirely up to you. We don’t mind where you live and we especially encourage low budget projects. The ‘Tasmania’ signature can be any word or image that alludes to Tassie.

If you’d like to talk to our judges before you submit your film you can register for our free Q&A webinar on Saturday 10 April 2021, 10-11am (AEST). We are available to answer your questions and offer advice on your short film. You may also email your queries if you are unable to attend the session.

Entries for Very Short Film Festival close Friday 23 April 2021.
