Welcome to the 2024 Very Short Festival film submission portal – review the following guidelines before you proceed.

• No entry fees are required. 
• This is an Australian film competition exclusively for Australian residents including those living abroad.
• Films must be between 2-5 minutes in duration.
• Films can be of any genre.
• Entry categories: Open (19 years and over) or Junior (18 years and under).
• One film entry per person (or group) will be accepted.
• Films must include the 2024 Official Competition signature, ‘spark’. 
• Films must be submitted in English or with English subtitles.
• Films must be original and produced after the announcement of the signature.
• Films must not have been publicly screened, broadcast, or featured online.
• You give us the right to screen your film in front of a live audience and broadcast online.
• Submit as .mp4 or .mov (QT). Aspect ratio for film i.e. 16:9 (1280×720 px). Max file size 2GB. 
• Recommended film specs only: Format H264, either as an .mp4 or .mov (QT); 1280×720 px; 25fps; Stereo AAC. Max file size 2GB.

If your film is a finalist, be prepared to submit visuals of your film, and production stills made during your filming.

Submissions for VSFF 2024 have officially closed. Finalists will be announced on 14 May 2024.
